NYX Love in Paris Palette in “Let Them Eat Cake” Review

First row: Second Row: Third Row: Hello everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful day. I have been using the NYX Love in Paris palette in “Let Them Eat Cake” for quite a few weeks now. This palette retails for about $10 and can be purchased at Ulta or on the NYX website. The small, portable palette contains nine eyeshadows of varying textures ranging from mattes to shimmer finishes. The packaging is simple with a dainty bow clasp, no mirror, and houses a small sponge tip applicator. I have quickly grown fond of this palette for a soft, every day look. The feminine shades work wonderfully together and the hint of shimmer can add dimension to an otherwise simple look. Though I do not own the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, I feel this small compact mimics the rosey tones wonderfully and allows someone on a budget to accomplish a look similar to what the Naked 3 provides. The shades themselves I feel are easy to work with and lend themselves wonderfully especially for …

NYX High Voltage Lipsticks Review

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be sharing yet another post with you. I have been playing with the new NYX High Voltage lipsticks that were recently released in their new product line up for spring. The collection showcases 22 creamy shades ranging from soft nudes to rich plums.  They are sold on the NYX website or at Ulta and retail for $6.00. Let’s begin the review! – Twisted – Twisted is a highly pigmented electric violet with cool undertones. It has a rich cream finish that feels comfortable on the lips. This daring shade is right up my alley! There is something about a purple lip that adds such an edgy yet feminine touch to any look. This particular lipstick delivers extremely well with pigmentation as it glides on effortlessly and with intense color.   – Flutter Kiss – Flutter kiss is a soft tawny pink with a hint of brown blended in. I am absolutely in love with this lipstick. It is a “my lips but better” shade on me and I find it absolutely perfect …

NYX Contour and Highlight Pro Palette Review

Hello everyone! I hope your day is lovely. I am thrilled to share today’s post! NYX recently reached out to me and sent me some goodies to review for all of you including their new Contour and Highlight Pro Palette. I had been eyeing contour palettes for quite some time and was overjoyed to have the opportunity to try a drugstore variety as opposed to the higher end options. This Highlight and Contour Pro Palette retails for $25 at Ulta or on the NYX website. It comes with eight shades in refillable pans; four highlight shades and four contour/bronzer shades with a variety of finishes ranging from matte to satin. The first highlight shade would work fantastically for paler complexions. It adds a wonderful glow with it’s shimmer finish, but does not emphasize pores. The second highlight shade has a slightly warmer undertone than the first one and a matte finish. It adds a wonderful glow when applied to the highest points of the face. I particularly love this shade on my light, olive skin tone. …

ColourPop Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are wonderful today. After a hectic couple of weeks, I am happy to be back sharing yet another review post with all of you. A little over a month ago, I was gifted some goodies from ColourPop Cosmetics, a growing cosmetic brand based out of L.A., for my birthday and have been playing with them since. Let’s jump into the review! I placed an order for eight eyeshadows with varying finishes ranging from matte, metallic, and shimmer. This product has an incredibly unique formula; though they are powder the consistency feels creamy and smooth. They glide on the lid with such unbelievable ease, blend beautifully, and the pigmentation is unreal. For the $5.00 price tag these shades are a steal for any makeup enthusiast. For my oily eyelids I felt these lasted quite well without a primer, but a primer can increase the longevity. Application is best done with fingers since it packs the color on much more richly. A synthetic brush can be used especially for blending, but using …

Stocking Stuffers – NYX Matte Lip Creams

Hello everyone! I hope your enjoying your day and preparing for the holidays! I know many of us, including myself, have been scrambling trying to find the perfect gifts for friends and family as Christmas is fast approaching. The NYX Matte Lip Creams not only are easily accessible, budget friendly, and pocket sized but also a wonderful option for stocking stuffers. If you are interested in knowing my thoughts then keep on reading! The NYX Matte Lip Creams can be found on the NYX website, Ulta, and Target for about $6.00. There are 22 total shades in the line ranging from soft neutrals, brilliant reds, and vampy shades. Today I will be sharing my thoughts on four shades: Amsterdam, Ibiza, Prague, and Addis Ababa. Amsterdam is a rich, orange-based red that glides on like a dream. I particularly love the doe foot applicator as I feel it gives me the precision I need especially when applying along the edges for a clean finish. This shade is wonderful and applies with full opacity adding some much …

NYX Retractable Lip Liner Review

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are absolutely lovely today. Today I am sharing my thoughts on the NYX Retractable lip liners in Red and Nude Pink. They retail for about $4.50 at Ulta making them a great affordable option for budget conscience beauty aficionados. They have 20 lip shades with varying finishes. Let’s jump into the review! Red  The packaging of the lip liner mimics the actual product color wonderfully. This matte bright red with warm orange undertones is a great liner under lipstick or on it’s own. It glides on and applies vibrant pigmentation on the lips with minimal effort making it an absolute joy to work with. One thing to keep in mind with this liner, as with the Nude Pink as well, is that due to it’s long lasting capability it is also rather drying on the lips. If you plan on using these lip liners, pay extra attention to the overall care of your lips: exfoliate and moisturizer them as the dry formula can emphasize dry patches. Nude Pink Once again, …

E.l.f. HD Blush “Encore” Review

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are wonderful today! I am thrilled to be back sharing yet another review post. Today we will be looking at e.l.f.’s HD Blush in Encore. This cream product retails for $3.00 and can be purchased at Target or the e.l.f. cosmetics website. Packaging The container is surprisingly small containing .34 fl ounces of product. It is made of a lightweight plastic material and has a squeeze pump. The squeeze pump seems to be both a positive and a negative. I love it for hygienic purposes, but find that it can dispense too much product if you’re not light handed when you push down. I like the iconic simplicity of e.l.f.’s packaging. It feels clean, fresh, and modern. Cream Blush The pigmentation of this blush is unbelievable. I was absolutely astonished when I tried it out initially! The color is precise to what you see in the tube. It is rich, creamy, and astoundingly opaque. As you notice in the swatch, I simply put the smallest fraction on the the back …

E.l.f. Concealer and Angled Eyeliner Brush Review

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are well today! Today’s post will sharing my overall thoughts on the two e.l.f. brushes I recently purchased: the flawless concealer brush and angled eyeliner brush. Let’s Begin! Flawless Concealer Brush This brush has a tapered dome shape with a flexible rounded top half. It appears to mimic the shape of a usually smaller blending eye shadow brush. The soft bristle allows for a nonabrasive application of product on the skin. I have absolutely fallen in love with this brush! The quality and texture is superb for the mere $3.00 price and mimics the characteristics of a high end brush. I had originally been using the e.l.f small stipple brush and though it is also wonderful, this brush is able to work into every corner and area of my dark circles without disrupting my foundation or causing my flake prone skin to flare up. The soft bristles seamlessly blend my concealer (Benefit’s Erase Paste) flawlessly without absorbing too much of the product in to the bristles themselves. My favorite way …

NYX Matte Lipstick Review

Alabama: Rich brick red shade. Classic, sumptuous, and festive. A wonderful option during the fall and winter holidays. Bloody Mary: Red based berry shade. Coquette, juicy, and vibrant. A great year round option for a fun twist on a classic red lip with some added umph. Pure Red: Orange based red shade. Eye catching, feisty, and alluring. This red is fitting for all occasions in need of some vivacity.  Indie Flick: Bright orange shade. Tropical, daring, and vivacious. This shade is the essence of summer in a tube.  Strawberry Daiquiri: A peachy nude shade. Sweet, angelic, and soft. A go to option for an everyday lip.  Sweet Pink: Bright pink with hints of lavender shade. Electric, hypnotizing, and carefree. A lovely spring season option for those who aren’t afraid of some color.  Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day! Today I’ll be reviewing six of the lipsticks in the NYX matte lipstick collection. These lipsticks have a matte finish as the name implies. They are priced around $6.00 making it readily available to fit anyone’s budget.  This product has …

NYX Butter Gloss Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all wonderful. I have missed you all tremendously this past week! I was a busy bee studying for exams, but now I am back till finals week. Remember to hop on over to my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages for updates and fun tidbits in between posts. Today I will be sharing a review on a product I’ve grown incredibly fond of: the NYX Butter Glosses. The entire range has 22 shades at $5.00 each with .27 fl oz of product. They are described as a sheer to medium coverage gloss without being sticky and can be worn alone or over any lipstick. “It’s delicious and gorgeous at the same time.” – NYX Cosmetics My Thoughts I must admit I have been enjoying this products quite a bit! The pigmentation is truly what makes these glosses stellar. Upon first application, the product dispenses rich color though it may not be absolutely precise to the packaging I think the fact that a gloss has so much color makes it outstanding. They …
