Polish Poll Winner – Orly’s Wild Wisteria

Hello everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you all are well. I want to thank everyone that voted in the last nail polish poll! I want to encourage everyone to check out and participate in the next poll. I love knowing what you all want me to do next.  I also want to share that I’m now on Bloglovin‘! On to the review of Orly’s Wild Wisteria! Wild Wisteria is a pure purple creme polish that is highly opaque with one coat. My favorite quality of the polish aside from the the ease of application is the rich pigment of the color. I wanted a true purple with no other colors or glitter shot through and this certainly provides that. My only complaints were that in low lighting it does appear a tad too close to black and that it did easily chip on the ends since I didn’t seal it with my Seche Vite top coat. I think with a top coat the chipping would be greatly reduced. Overall, I highly recommend this polish! It’s …

A Sparkling New Year with Butter London

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I had a delightful Christmas with my family and had quite a few surprises under the tree this year! I want to take a moment thank my family and loved ones from everything this holiday. I cherish each and every single gift. Now on to the polish review! I recently stopped by Ulta and finally bought Butter London’s polish in Wallis, which I’ve had my eye on for ages. It has always stood out as an incredibly unique color that I couldn’t seem to find an equivalent for. The closest has been China Glaze’s Wagon Trail but it has a darker green base and less gold glitter running though it. Wallis is an olive toned polish shot with rich gold glitter that gives it an incredible glow in the sunlight. It is a bit sheer with one coat, but after applying a second coat it is fully opaque. The polish is quite easy to work with and spread through out the nail. I applied it over …

Go Nude this Fall: Nude Nails the Timeless Classic

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a lovely day! How was your Thanksgiving holiday? I had a wonderful time with family enjoying delicious food and company! Today I will be sharing one of my favorite nude nail polishes, OPI’s My Very First Knockwurst. The polish was released in the Fall 2012 OPI Germany Collection along with 11 other shades. It can still be purchased on Amazon! This polish is a unique nude shade as it’s neither a true pink nor a lavender or beige. Rather it is a blend of all of those colors that creates a different visual effect under various lighting as noted in the pictures above. In comparing the polish under natural light vs. camera flash, you can clearly see that certain colors are highlighted in the blend more than others. This polish also glides on smoothly and opaque with one coat, but two is preferable to achieve a more perfected look. It is long lasting and quite resilient to chipping. I also absolutely love this polish for toes, as I prefer a …

Fall Must Have – Burgundy Polish and Almond Shaped Nails

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely Sunday! Today I’ll be reviewing the Essie polish in Wrapped in Rubies. The polish is part of Essie’s permanent collection and can be purchased online or at your local drugstore.  As you can see above, based on the view from the bottle, it appears to have iridescent gold shimmer running through the rich burgundy color. Once the polish is applied, it appears to give a different effect as opposed to what the bottle initially showed. The gold lining in the polish does not translate onto the nails as depicted in the top and bottom images taken in different lighting intensities. With that being said, I still find this polish beautiful and one that I am thrilled to have in my collection.  The color itself is a rich burgundy, crimson color swirled with finely milled gold glitter making it a perfect polish for the fall and winter seasons especially during the up and coming holidays. The polish applies with ease only requiring about two coats. I applied this …

Electric Blue – Ghem Polish Review

Happy Halloween everyone! What are your exciting Halloween plans? I, unfortunately, have an exam tonight which is why the costume will be revealed tomorrow! If you haven’t voted, you can still do so today. On to the polish! This color is a gorgeous electric blue by Ghem Esmalte that applies flawlessly and opaquely. The only negative associated with this polish is that it cannot be found in the United States. I picked this up while I was visiting family in Colombia. I found a similar Zoya polish that has a slightly deeper tone of blue, but is equally as beautiful. I applied my polish on top of Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails to prevent as much staining that occurs from pigmented colors and applied Seche Vite as my fast drying top coat. Blue nails are such an uplifting and daring color on the nails that really catches the eyes in a lovely way. Don’t be afraid to try a color like this! Until next time. Take care!
