Hello everyone! I hope you are all wonderful.

I have missed you all tremendously this past week! I was a busy bee studying for exams, but now I am back till finals week. Remember to hop on over to my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages for updates and fun tidbits in between posts.

Today I will be sharing a review on a product I’ve grown incredibly fond of: the NYX Butter Glosses. The entire range has 22 shades at $5.00 each with .27 fl oz of product. They are described as a sheer to medium coverage gloss without being sticky and can be worn alone or over any lipstick.

“It’s delicious and gorgeous at the same time.” – NYX Cosmetics

My Thoughts

I must admit I have been enjoying this products quite a bit! The pigmentation is truly what makes these glosses stellar. Upon first application, the product dispenses rich color though it may not be absolutely precise to the packaging I think the fact that a gloss has so much color makes it outstanding. They have a creamy rich formula that glides on effortlessly, but does leave a tacky feel on the lips. These glosses do have a pleasant sweet smell that doesn’t linger for too long on the lips. They did keep my usually dry lips at bay, but I did not note any particularly hydrating benefits. They lasted a couple hours worn on my bare lips as well as over lipstick.

Sugar Cookie

A mid-tone pink with cool undertones and a semi-opaque finish is my go to everyday gloss. I love the cream finish and the “your lips but better” effect it has when applied. It lasted for a couple hours which I consider good for a gloss texture.

Red Velvet

This color screams Marilyn Monroe, don’t you agree? I love pairing this over a classic red lipstick to add that bit of old Hollywood glamour into my look. This applies beautifully over a lipstick or alone. The lasting power was the same as Sugar Cookie.

Verdict

8.5/10

I highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for some wonderfully pigmented glosses at an affordable price. They have a wide color selection ranging from nudes to deep berries and reds. There is a shade for everyone to enjoy! My only qualm is that I wish they felt a tad less tacky on the lips.

They can be purchased at Ulta.

Have you tried them out? Let us know what you think!

Until next time. Take care!
