Revlon’s Black Cherry Super Lustrous Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! I apologize for the recent disappearance. I have been home preparing for Thanksgiving with my family and enjoying my small break. I have been searching for the perfect “vampy” lip color for the fall and winter season; I came across Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry and I will be sharing my opinion on the product. The lipstick can be purchased at your local drugstore for  $5.00 and is part of their permanent collection. You can purchase the lipstick here as well. Pros: The color glides on smoothly. Has the ability to be worn sheer or opaque depending on your preference. A wine color that is perfect for the holiday and fall/winter seasons. The affordable price makes it readily available for all budget ranges. Packaging is lightweight, simple, and classically designed. Cons: The lipstick lacks the amount of pigment I was expecting. It has a nice color, but it pales it comparison to what I thought when I looked at the lipstick bullet. I feel this lipstick is …

OOTD – Spice Up Thanksgiving with a Dash of Leopard Print

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I was finally able to enjoy a beautiful afternoon after what seemed like an endless amount of gray skies, rain, and wind. Today’s outfit is geared toward styling a casual yet pulled together look for Thanksgiving. Here I paired a cream 3/4 length sleeve button down with dark wash jeans. Why I love this blouse for the holidays is that since it has a loose fit it allows for movement and leaves a bit of extra room to eat delicious Thanksgiving food (I’m especially thrilled for apple pie, yum!). The focal point of the outfit is the light, chiffon scarf. It has a combination of prints and colors making it an eye catching statement piece against a simple blouse. Since the scarf has leopard print rimming the peach floral design, I decided to play with a leopard print shoe and bag to keep the theme going through out the rest of the outfit. To top it off I added my Revlon lipstick in Black Cherry …

OOTD – A Twirl of Pink in the Middle of the Week!

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day. Today I went exploring and found a beautiful building dedicated to meditation and relaxation. It was tucked within a wonderful natural setting creating a soothing ambiance and a great spot to shoot some pictures! Today’s outfit was something fun and flirty for yet another stormy day. Here I wanted to show how I paired this white eyelet skirt that is typically worn during the spring and summer into a more fall appropriate look. I have always felt that just because certain colors and textures are used in a particular season does not mean that can’t be used at all once the season passes. I paired the light and loose skirt with a thicker cozier pink and white sweater. The thicker sweater creates a contrast in textures making the whole outfit feel more fall appropriate and warmer. I tucked the sweater in and added a belt to cinch in my waist since it can get lost in a bulkier top. The shoes compliments the wallet/clutch perfectly adding …

OOTD – Yesterday’s Outfit! Little Red Lips and Navy Blue

Hello lovelies! I hope your day has been wonderful! The weather has been relentlessly horrible; grey skies and rain making the shoots incredibly challenging, but I did my best for all of you! Here I threw together a casual yet pulled together look for my Monday evening meeting. I paired my black pumps with medium/dark wash jeans to elongate my legs. I wore a rich navy blue 3/4 length sleeve button down to to keep the outfit in the same color family. To add a little “umph” to the look, I draped a soft scarf around my neck. I adore this scarf so much! The navy against the red lips print is a fantastic combination that can add a flirty touch to any outfit especially on a dull and rainy day! To add color cohesion to the look, I used a skinny red belt to redefine my waist and play up the print of the scarf. For my bag, I used my Anne Klein tote. I love the color blocking of the bag; it helps …

OOTD- Navy Striped Dress on a Cloudy Day

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Saturday afternoon! Hopefully a bit less rainy and dreary than it is where I am. Today’s outfit is a somewhat of a reflection of the weather. The colors are cooler and darker almost resembling that of the sky and general atmosphere of the day. Here I wore my navy shift dress with black tights. It is said that navy and black should not be paired together, but I disagree. I feel almost any color combination can be done if you know how to correctly approach it. I paired the black tights, heels, and clutch to add a sense of uniformity among the colors creating a greater sense of cohesion. Since the dress is navy, it actually stands out in a subtle form against the black making my upper half of my body more of a focal point rather than my legs. The combination of the black tights and heels also elongates my legs and makes the nautical feel of the dress [usually a more summer print] more …

OOTD – Dressing for a Sudden Cold Front!

Hello everyone! I hope your day is great! Today’s outfit revolved around the color red and the sudden cold front Florida is experiencing! Talk about a change from yesterday being in a tank top to a scarf and long sleeves today. The focal point of the outfit was the red boots. I wanted them to be the ‘wow’ factor and the item that popped out. I paired the red boots with a dark wash skinny jean. It makes the legs look lean and draws the eyes down toward the boots. I wore a red long sleeve blouse with a black tank underneath for extra warmth from the unusual amount of wind this morning. I threw on a light khaki jacket to break up the red color and add another layer of warmth and dimension to the outfit. I went with a grey scarf to break up the warm tones of the outfit and bring out the cooler tones of the blue in the jeans and handbag. This outfit works great to keep yourself polished and …

OOTD – Leopard Print Heels

Hello everyone! I hope your day is marvelous! Today I decided to play with my new leopard print heels. They are such a fun piece that add spunk to an outfit and should be in any women’s wardrobe! Here I paired my my leopard print heel with a dark wash jean. By pairing these two together, it can help to elongate your legs and give you a leaner look. I slipped on a simple white, loose tank top and tucked it in for a more pulled together look and added a belt for visual interest and to tie in the brown of the shoes. I threw on my jacket to add a tailored look as well as keep warm in the cooler weather. My beloved London Fog bag is large enough to fit all my essentials and adds a level of sophistication to the look! I also wanted to share that I acquired a new book! “The Audrey Hepburn Way of Life: How to be Lovely” by Melissa Hellstern. I am excited to dive into …

Cleaning your Makeup Brushes and Why it is Important

Hello everyone! Happy Veterans day! Today I’ll be sharing the why and how of cleaning your makeup brushes. Why is it important to clean your makeup brushes? Washing your brushes should be a fundamental step in your daily beauty routine because the accumulation of product can cause oil and bacteria to build up causing clogged pores and breakouts. Beside for hygienic reasons, we use our brushes in a variety of products typically involving different colors. If the brushes are not clean, certain colors can be influenced by the residue and you will not get a true color application because the brush is dirty. Fortunately, cleaning your brushes is simple and inexpensive! Materials: Towel Gentle Shampoo Clothes Hanger Twist Ties  (one for each brush) Process: Begin by laying your brushes out on a clean towel. Then grab the shampoo your plan on using to clean your brushes. Today I used my V05 Clarifying Shampoo, but it would be best to use a gentle baby shampoo. Take your first brush and run it over lukewarm water …

October Travels – Virginia

Hello everyone! I hope your Friday is awesome so far! In mid October I went to Virginia to visit my boyfriend. I had incredible experience and created fond memories. I wanted to give you all a glimpse into my trip and a couple of the outfits I wore. The first outfit was taken at the Living Museum. It truly was a beautiful area filled with tons to explore and learn about. I really enjoyed seeing the animals in there native habitat. It was brisk that afternoon so I kept that in mind when I put together my outfit. I paired my leopard print skirt with a red, thin wool sweater. The brown, thin belt helps redefine my waist from the bulk of the sweater. The tan jacket ties the look together by blending in the tones of the outfit as well as provide much needed warmth. Here is a closeup of the necklace that I really feel brings this look together. The necklace is composed of rich browns and jewel tones that really bring out …

OOTD – Leopard Print and Tulle

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday; half way through the week already! Today was my Wednesday morning meeting with the nonprofit organization I am interning for. We recently launched our Indiegogo campaign and are working hard to reach our goal of $15,000 in order to give children of varying abilities the opportunity to participate in gymnastics.  It has been thrilling being part of a great cause in my community! On to the outfit! Here I paired a leopard print 3 quarter length sleeve sweater with a solid black tulle skirt to break up the busy pattern above.  The color of the skirt also helps to highlight the rich browns and tans in the blouse.  The red belt is used to cinch in the waist so it is not lost in the bulk of the sweater and it additionally serves the purpose of adding visual interest to the outfit with a pop of color.  The combination of red and leopard print compliment each other beautifully. The bow front heels add a wonderful touch of femininity to the edgier …
