NYX Retractable Lip Liner Review

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are absolutely lovely today. Today I am sharing my thoughts on the NYX Retractable lip liners in Red and Nude Pink. They retail for about $4.50 at Ulta making them a great affordable option for budget conscience beauty aficionados. They have 20 lip shades with varying finishes. Let’s jump into the review! Red  The packaging of the lip liner mimics the actual product color wonderfully. This matte bright red with warm orange undertones is a great liner under lipstick or on it’s own. It glides on and applies vibrant pigmentation on the lips with minimal effort making it an absolute joy to work with. One thing to keep in mind with this liner, as with the Nude Pink as well, is that due to it’s long lasting capability it is also rather drying on the lips. If you plan on using these lip liners, pay extra attention to the overall care of your lips: exfoliate and moisturizer them as the dry formula can emphasize dry patches. Nude Pink Once again, …

Transitioning to Fall Shades

Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be back with yet another post! Before sharing today’s post, I wanted to apologize for the sudden disappearance. I was quite ill for what felt like an eternity, but thankfully that has dissipated and I am delighted to create new content for all of you! Now let’s move on to today’s post. With fall in full swing and the crisp air starting to move in, fall nail polish shades are a must to bring together a cozy look. I wanted to share some of my favorites with all of you! Essie – For the Twill of It  This shade is an incredibly interesting holographic polish that applies beautifully on the nails. This multi-chrome polish shifts between teal, purple, magenta, and a deep rusty silver. I love this shade for fall as it is different take on the classic, low key autumnal polish. It maintains a discreet appeal while still being eye catching. Note: due to it’s metallic finish it can leave a streaky appearance so apply carefully. OPI – The Spy Who …

Ten Holiday Questions Survey!

Hello everyone! I came across this fun little survey and decided to share it with all of you. I’m officially tagging all of you. I can’t wait to see your responses! 1. Do you hang mistletoe? I don’t have mistletoe, but I think it would be cute idea. I may go out and get one for this year! 2. When do you hang your decorations up? After Thanksgiving is usually when my family and I put up decorations. We prefer to enjoy one holiday at a time! 3. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? My family and I do celebrate Christmas on the 24th with the big dinner and gathering. At midnight we open out gifts and use the 25th to enjoy our goodies! 4. Real tree or fake tree? For the past few years, my family has been purchasing real trees as opposed to using a fake and I certainly love real far more! 5. What tops your tree? A star. 6. What is on your Christmas wishlist this year? A camera that is a step up from my old point-and-shoot that I’m …

Revlon’s Black Cherry Super Lustrous Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! I apologize for the recent disappearance. I have been home preparing for Thanksgiving with my family and enjoying my small break. I have been searching for the perfect “vampy” lip color for the fall and winter season; I came across Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry and I will be sharing my opinion on the product. The lipstick can be purchased at your local drugstore for  $5.00 and is part of their permanent collection. You can purchase the lipstick here as well. Pros: The color glides on smoothly. Has the ability to be worn sheer or opaque depending on your preference. A wine color that is perfect for the holiday and fall/winter seasons. The affordable price makes it readily available for all budget ranges. Packaging is lightweight, simple, and classically designed. Cons: The lipstick lacks the amount of pigment I was expecting. It has a nice color, but it pales it comparison to what I thought when I looked at the lipstick bullet. I feel this lipstick is …

OOTD- Navy Striped Dress on a Cloudy Day

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Saturday afternoon! Hopefully a bit less rainy and dreary than it is where I am. Today’s outfit is a somewhat of a reflection of the weather. The colors are cooler and darker almost resembling that of the sky and general atmosphere of the day. Here I wore my navy shift dress with black tights. It is said that navy and black should not be paired together, but I disagree. I feel almost any color combination can be done if you know how to correctly approach it. I paired the black tights, heels, and clutch to add a sense of uniformity among the colors creating a greater sense of cohesion. Since the dress is navy, it actually stands out in a subtle form against the black making my upper half of my body more of a focal point rather than my legs. The combination of the black tights and heels also elongates my legs and makes the nautical feel of the dress [usually a more summer print] more …

A Hint of Sparkle for a Fall Neutral

Hello everyone! I hope your day has been wonderful thus far. As fall slowly makes it way in, certain nail polishes compliment the warm colors of the season. Orly’s polish in Nite Owl is a great fall inspired color for those who want something a bit softer on the nails especially if your are transitioning from having a darker nail polish. Nite Owl is a light taupe shade with finely milled glitter particles to add a subtle touch of glam without being too noisy. I applied this over my Sally Hansen Hard as Nails strengthener and added Seche Vite top coat for a faster dry. Overall, I would say this is a fantastic polish. It applies easily with one application. The polish has a nice creamy consistency adding to the ease of application and is opaque on the first coat. It’s a great quick nail polish that compliments any outfit due to it’s neutral color. Until next time. Take care! Remember to like Miss Alice Beauty on Facebook and follow Miss Alice Beauty on Twitter!
