Polish Poll Winner – Elf’s Purple Pleaser

Hello everyone! I hope you all are wonderful and enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend! The last polish poll crowned Elf’s polish in Purple Pleaser as the winner. This particular polish is a rich purple color with a red tint running through it. The warm undertone is particularly flattering for my medium skintone and makes it universally great, even if you are on the cool toned spectrum since it will stand out beautifully on the nails. In order to achieve the full color, I applied two generous coats of the polish over my Sally Hansen Hard As Nails base. I then finished it off with a top coat to add more shine since I noticed this polish wasn’t as lustrous though not entirely matte either. I have had some slight chipping already after two days of wear, but that is expected with this affordable nail polish. This particular polish is sold in a 15 piece gift set, not separately on the Elf website. Overall, I feel this a great addition to any collection. It applies wonderfully and it’s a …

OOTD – Dressing Down a Pencil Skirt

Hello everyone! I hope you all are lovely today! With Memorial Day right around the corner I decided to make an outfit that incorporated the colors red, white, and blue but also add a dash of leopard to the mix. Today I decided to pair my red pencil skirt (last seen here) in a more casual manner. I paired a simple white blouse with the skirt to keep my palette simple and allow the red to take center stage. The blouse’s v -neck quality elongates the body by drawing the eye down and also adds to a more slender look. I didn’t want my outfit to get too dull so I threw on a pair of chunky leopard print heels. I adore the combo of red and leopard together! The colors compliment each other wonderfully. I threw on a jean jacket that adds structure to the look without being appearing over done. Thank you to all the soldiers who have lost their  lives for our country. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday with family and …

Keepin’ Cute Cuticles – Medicine Mama’s Sweet Bee Magic Cream Review

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday; already half way till the weekend, wohoo! Today’s review post is a bit a different. As I was fixing my nails and prepping them to apply the winner from the last polish poll later this week, I thought I would share the nighttime cuticle/body moisturizer I love using. Medicine Mama’s Sweet Bee Magic Cream has been my go to evening cream for the past six months. The product retails for $22.50 for the 4 oz size and was purchased off Amazon. I haven’t come across it in any particular store. The texture is a thick, rather sticky consistency reminding me of Vaseline. Upon application it leaves a greasy film on the skin that can take a while to absorb which is why I tend to prefer to use this product right before bed. In terms of smell, it doesn’t have an particular strong or offensive order. It does however have a distinctive scent that does not linger on the skin the next day. Medicine Mama Apothecary website claims: “Heals dry skin with immediate and …

Color Collage – Spring Time Blues

Hello everyone! I hope you all are wonderful today. Lately I have been enjoying and feeling inspired by the endless blue skies and sunshine. Today’s color collage is based on the lovely color blue which is certainly a a great shade for the spring and summer! I feel that wearing blue is rather refreshing and universally flattering. Personally, I’m most excited to wear my China Glaze Polish in For Audrey! What’s your favorite way to wear blue this season? Until next time. Take care! OOTD – Poolside and Sunshine

Hello everyone! I hoping you are having a wonderfully sunny and joyful day. I have been enjoying the warmth of sunny South Florida with my family before I’m back  to being a busy bee again. I wanted to note that I haven’t forgotten the nail polish poll! I accidentally left the polish in my apartment thinking I had packed it. Not my most brilliant moment, haha. The post will be up as soon as I am back! Today’s post revolves around keeping it fresh and cool since it has been unbelievably warm lately. I was thrift shopping with my mom the other day and came across a lovely eyelet blouse perfect for spring with it’s soft fabric. I paired it with my black and white printed shorts that happen to mimic the delicate pattern of the blouse. I threw on my usual floppy hat, but tied a Ralph Lauren colorful scarf around it to add some flair and vibrancy to the monochromatic look. My makeup look consisted of Revlon’s Matte Balm in Striking, CoverGirl’s Clump Crusher …

Poolside Colors – Revlon Matte Lip Balm Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I’ve recently been testing three shades out of the ten from the Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm line in Unapologetic, Shameless, and Striking. These lipsticks can be purchased for about $8.00 at your local drugstore. Pros:  All the shades are beautifully pigmented and apply quite opaque. Affordability within any budget range as well as accessibility in where to purchase. A true matte texture with absolutely no shine as promised by the claims. The colors are long lasting and incredibly vibrant. I enjoy the packaging and design of the actual product. It’s easy to distinguish the color when looking through your makeup collection. The chubby stick design is brilliant since the finer tip makes for a more accurate application. The colors are perfect for the spring and summer! Cons: Due to it’s matte texture, you must make sure your lips are not dry as it will highlight the dry patches. Shameless is the least forgiving of the three shades I have tried. Since the pigment is …

OOTD – A Sunny Afternoon Outing

Hello everyone! I hope you all are wonderful today! I have finally concluded another semester of finals and I am happily alive after it, haha. I’m thrilled to be back with all of you and share more posts at last. I’ve been obsessed with these lime green shorts (last seen here) and heels! They are incredibly vibrant and perfect for the spring time warmth. To balance the electric color, I paired a floral blouse that has flicks of green here and there along with tones of complimentary colors  (reds, purples, pinks, etc.).  The blouse is not a busy print and has large sections of white making it great to dilute the green shade down. The heels being nude not only elongate my legs adding an illusion of more height, but also do not distract from the upper half. As for my makeup, I used NYX’s Primal Colors in a gorgeous elecrtic pink and lined my upper lash line with Maybelline’s gel liner. Want to see this look in a tutorial?
