Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be back with yet another post!
Before sharing today’s post, I wanted to apologize for the sudden disappearance. I was quite ill for what felt like an eternity, but thankfully that has dissipated and I am delighted to create new content for all of you! Now let’s move on to today’s post. With fall in full swing and the crisp air starting to move in, fall nail polish shades are a must to bring together a cozy look. I wanted to share some of my favorites with all of you!
Essie – For the Twill of It
This shade is an incredibly interesting holographic polish that applies beautifully on the nails. This multi-chrome polish shifts between teal, purple, magenta, and a deep rusty silver. I love this shade for fall as it is different take on the classic, low key autumnal polish. It maintains a discreet appeal while still being eye catching.
Note: due to it’s metallic finish it can leave a streaky appearance so apply carefully.
OPI – The Spy Who Loved Me
A rich red shot with dazzling gold glitter brings the warmth and festive atmosphere into a bottle. This polish applies wonderfully with about two coats or one generous coat to reach full opacity. A red nail polish is a wonderful option year round, but there is something about this time of year that makes them even more appealing. Is it because of the holidays, the air being chilly, or bundling up in warm scarves and coats? I am not quite sure, but a red polish sprinkled with gold glitter will be part of my fall polish rotation!
This polish was part of OPI’s Skyfall Collection.
China Glaze – Wagon Trail
Wagon trail is a complex polish that seems to act more like a changing chameleon going from a deep forest green to bronze to a golden sheen attributed to the micro-shimmer drizzled throughout. This mysterious seeming polish fits the autumnal season perfectly with it’s deep hues and unobtrusive golden shimmer. The polish shakes up the usual line up of fall shades. It applies wonderfully with one generous coat or two thinner coats.
Orly – Sea Gurl
Do not be fooled by the summer sounding name! This shade works great as a transitional shade into the fall season. It is a cool toned gunmetal grey shade that contains very finely milled shimmer throughout. This polish provides a unique fall look. It gives the option of having a lighter, softer fall color as opposed to the usual dark shades, but the gunmetal metallic finish gives it an edgy “tough” feel. The formulation is superb! Though it is a metallic polish, it streaks very little and is quite opaque.
Essie – Sole Mate
A deep plum purple shade that applies beautifully with it’s cream formulation. This has been a favorite of mine for years and was among my first Essie polish shades when I began my nail polish collection (aka addiction). The warm berry undertone mimics that of a rich red wine. Sole Mate is a classic vampy shade that you would typically see in the fall. Apply two coats and you are set!
Butter London – Wallis
Wallis, Wallis, Wallis. This shade is incredibly dynamic and one that I have yet to find an equivalent. This olive green polish drenched in gold shimmer is simply mesmerizing. It has a glamorous, yet quirky feel to it which is a rather unusual pair of attributes, but manages to create a delightful combination in this shade. The formula requires about two generous coats or three thinner coats to achieve full opacity.
Those are a few of my favorite polishes for the fall season! Share some of your favorites in the comments below!
Until next time. Take care!
