My Travel Bag – Sunny South Florida

Packing 1

Packing 2

Hello everyone! I hope you day is lovely thus far.

I am home for spring break and thought it would be appropriate to share some of my sunny South Florida essentials. My choices revolve around fresh, bright colors and light fabrics to stay cool in the heat.

1. Floppy Hat

The sun has been exceptionally strong lately as the skies have been clear with little to no clouds so a large floppy hat is essential. It creates a great statement to any outfit as well as provide much needed protection from those rays. I purchased mine from Ross Dress For Less for about $8.

2. Light Scarf

I personally cannot be without a scarf year round. They are such easy pieces to add a bit of life to any look with minimal effort. I’m fond of scarves with a colorful floral print during the spring and summer seasons. The materials are extremely lightweight making it tolerable. My floral scarf is from Amazon’s Anika Dali Collection.

3. Soft Skirt

A soft floral skirt just screams spring, summer,  and sunshine. This skirt is my current obsession with a watercolor effect and the beautiful pairing of red, pink, and purple. A skirt is great to have when traveling since it can be easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The full skirt is from Target.

4. Open Cut Heels

Keeping the feet cool while walking about town is essential in the heat. The cut out of the heels allow air to move and keep the toes fresh as well as stylish. The  color is neutral allowing it to go with virtually everything I packed reducing the bulk in my suitcase. The heels are from G by Guess and were purchased from Ross Dress for Less.

5. Beauty Essentials

My Lorac Pro palette goes everywhere with me undoubtedly. The  colors are extremely versatile and rich in pigment. It also has the perfect blend of colors for my brows so yet another reason why this palette goes where I go. I’ve recently have been enjoying my Stila “The Natural” palette, since it has a wonderful soft “barely there” bronzer that I love because I don’t do much in the way of contouring. It also has a wonderful pink toned highlight that adds a soft glow when placed on top of my Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl travel sized highlight. The eyeshadows are also lovely and pigmented. I always bring one or two bold lipsticks. Here I’m showing Revlon’s Matte Balm in Shameless. My go to blush is NYX’s blush in Mocha. A bright red orange nail polish from OPI embodies the warmth of the new season! Everything can be found in Ulta.

6. Accessories and Perfume

Sunglasses are an absolute must to protect the eyes from the rays and look stylish while doing it. Mine were a lovely gift from my boyfriend that I’ve had my eye on for ages. The brand is Espirit and I believe were purchased via Amazon. My Anne Klein watch adds a practical yet stylish element to any outfit. As for hair accessories I wanted to continue the flower theme and brought along my mum flower hair clips from H&M. I adore these hair pieces because they instantly add umph to any updo.

My daily signature scent is my Cabotine Rose perfume. It’s a soft, feminine scent with a blend of fresh rose and notes of cherry blossoms and peonies. The perfume is inexpensive yet has a rather sophisticated, upscale scent that other more expensive perfumes have.

7. A Good Book

I love bringing a book with me to read since  I usually have a bit more time while at home away from the busy atmosphere of my college campus. I brought “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” with me and I cannot wait to dive into it!

What are some of your essentials when you travel?

Until next time. Take care!

  1. Love your bag! For me, a good sunscreen with an SPF of 60 or above (I crisp up like bacon on the beach), two books: one I haven’t read yet and one I have read and already know I love (in case the new one is a dud), a tinted moisturizer (regular foundation is far too heavy for warmer climates), plenty of aloe vera (in case my sunscreen fails), and two or three of the breeziest cardigans I own!
    Thanks for sharing!

    • A sunscreen is a must! Completely forgot to add it in since I always carry one in my purse. 🙂 By the way, the bacon part was hilarious, haha! Great suggestions for the bag overall!
