October Travels – Virginia

Hello everyone! I hope your Friday is awesome so far!

In mid October I went to Virginia to visit my boyfriend. I had incredible experience and created fond memories. I wanted to give you all a glimpse into my trip and a couple of the outfits I wore.

The first outfit was taken at the Living Museum. It truly was a beautiful area filled with tons to explore and learn about. I really enjoyed seeing the animals in there native habitat. It was brisk that afternoon so I kept that in mind when I put together my outfit. I paired my leopard print skirt with a red, thin wool sweater. The brown, thin belt helps redefine my waist from the bulk of the sweater. The tan jacket ties the look together by blending in the tones of the outfit as well as provide much needed warmth.

Beautiful waterfront view. The aviary is in the distance.

In the aviary.

Here is a closeup of the necklace that I really feel brings this look together. The necklace is composed of rich browns and jewel tones that really bring out the other colors of the outfit as well as the colors generally found during the autumn season. The necklace really adds a statement to the outfit, but is not overpowering and neither does it compete with the statement skirt.

We made another trip to the Bluebird Gap Farm. It was a beautiful, quaint area filled with wonderful farm animals. I dressed very casual for the farm once again keeping in mind the chilly temperature. I threw on a dark wash jean and a white t-shirt, a classic, simple combination. I wrapped a scarf around me to add warmth as well as appear a bit more put together and it also helps to counteract the slouchy quality of the sweater. I brought my London Fog tote to carry my essentials.

Feeding the wonderful rabbits!

A fun picture: This peacock loved to pose for pictures! He was absolutely gorgeous and seemed to know that, haha.
